OPERATIONS MANAGER

Contract Type: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract (with 3 month probation, and possibility of extension)

 

Hours: 40 hours (30 hours Duty Manager Operational Hours)

 

Reporting into: General Manager

 

Location: Shoreditch, London

 

Salary: £24,000 per annum

Purpose of the role

We are looking for a dynamic individual to guide and inspire a team whose job it is to provide guests with fun, exciting and memorable experiences. As an Operations Manager at Chaos Karts you will be responsible for the day to day running of the site.

 

This role is 30 hour a week contract working a variety of shifts. We will require you to have a high level of flexibility to suit the needs and operating hours of the business. You will be an ambassador for the business as an Operations Manager and support all on the ground teams to deliver our unique experience. This includes duty management, opening and closing the attraction, welfare of guests and operational team, health & safety and reporting.

 

We are looking for a fun and dynamic individual to motivate and work as part of the operational team. You must be flexible and able to work a variety of shifts including weekdays, weekends and bank holidays.

Key Accountabilities

Site Management

  • Opening and closing of the building each day
  • Supervising and ensuring smooth operation of each game and general housekeeping
  • Dealing with customer complaints quickly, confidentially, and appropriately
  • Ensuring all site checks are performed pre and post shift
  • Overseeing all operational aspects of the venue and troubleshooting problems as they arise
  • Monitoring stock and sales
  • Managing health and safety protocols including evacuation of site in case of emergency
  • Composing daily reports to record any faults, H&S notes, customer footfall, staffing or likewise.
  • Supporting the Operations Team as required
  • Overseeing reconciliation of monies at the end of shift
  • Be diligent and focused, every day, as you run the day to day operation of the attraction to ensure the highest operational standards and product excellence

 

People

  • Management of all team on site ensuring employees act in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures and high quality customer service
  • Assisting in building and training new team members
  • Creating rotas for staffing
  • Inspiring and leading from the front in daily team briefings
  • Provide timely feedback and mentoring to team members
  • Identify poor performance and quickly act to tackle issues
  • Champion the importance of teamwork and motivates others around them
  • Strengthen team dynamics and fosters strong relationships across the business

Role Requirements

Essential

  • Experience within a visitor attraction, theme part, museum, hotel, theatre, entertainment or tech environment
  • Experience in managing a team
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to multi task
  • Ability to demonstrate creative problem solving due to this being a new site
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • An ability to work calm and effectively under pressure
  • High level of communication skills when dealing with the public, stakeholders and colleagues
  • Understanding of health & safety and fire evacuation procedures

TRACKMASTERS/OPERATORS

Purpose of the role

We are looking for fun, dynamic and creative individuals to join our on the ground Operations Teams to assist in running the Chaos Karts site. You will be responsible for hosting guests, commentating on races, operating the Karts and upselling merchandise/ photos. The main outcome of the role is to ensure that the customer has positive experience.  

You will be self-motivated, able to work independently or as part of a team. We will require you to have a high level of flexibility to suit the needs and operating hours of the business including weekdays, weekends and bank holidays.

The ideal candidate will be able to bring our brand-new gaming experience to life with their creative and engaging personality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day to day hosting of the teams, in a exciting and engaging manner. 
  • Providing health and safety briefing to customers
  • Trouble shooting problems as they arise.
  • Commentating on the players races.
  • Operating the Karts from the control box
  • Ensuring the smooth running of the track. 
  • Advising the Operations Manager on shift of any issues 
  • Assist the Operations management team with any reasonable tasks
  • Managing the evacuation of site in the event of an emergency
  • Submitting information towards daily reports for the Company, via the Operations manager. 
  • Driving all operational aspects of the venue from the front line and troubleshooting problems as they arise
  • Managing health and safety protocols including evacuation of site in case of emergency
  • Supporting the Operations Team as required
  • Be diligent and focused, every day, as you drive the day to day operation of the attraction to ensure the highest operational standards and product excellence

Role Requirements
