The Company
The Ents Inc Limited is a new company that has been established for a highly innovative purpose; to blend the worlds of leisure, technology, and video games. The company is from the founder of one of the UK’s most successful Immersive Theatre experiences and promises to further push the boundaries of what people come to expect from entertainment with the world’s first real-life video game attraction, Chaos Karts.
This unbelievably exciting experience will combine the worlds of Competitive Socialising and Augmented Reality in order to bring the world an entirely unique and new leisure activity that channels the nostalgia of classic video games.
With a venue opening this year located in Manchester, we promise to turn the worlds of technology and leisure completely upside down. We are now hiring talented and hard-working individuals to make an unstoppable team for this exciting start-up.
The Role
As General Manager for Chaos Karts, you will oversee and maintain the daily operations of the attraction to the highest level of quality and efficiency. You must demonstrate commercial awareness, and create effective working practices, across all domains whether it’s recruitment, planning, finance, preparing a strategy or within general operational duties.
In this role, you will have full responsibility for running this exciting visitor attraction. With a key focus on the smooth running of the attraction site and dealing with customers face to face, you will help ensure that financial targets are consistently met, whilst most importantly ensuring the customer experience remains consistently high. You will lead and develop your onsite teams, while also establishing yourself quickly in the local community for the benefit of the business.
You are supportive yet practical, encouraging the teams and staff to work effectively together and facing every challenge with a positive, can-do attitude. With a commercially minded approach, you strive to ensure customer excellence, and are continuously thinking of innovative ways to develop our internal processes that will in turn improve our offering and experience.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
- Accountability for the smooth, efficient, and productive running of the attraction at all times.
- Ensure the highest levels of cleanliness, presentation & professionalism is always maintained across the attraction
- Being flexible and adaptable to circumstances, proposing innovative and creative solutions with ease
- Effective resource and rota management, ensuring the attraction is appropriately staffed at all times
- Produce daily reports on performance of the site, providing comments and suggestions on trends and areas of improvement
- Shine creatively in conjunction with the Marketing department, to ensure strong and coordinated delivery of national and regional marketing strategies including promotions, trade marketing, and PR
- Oversee all aspects of site management including property maintenance, security, health and safety and complying with council policies
Financial Delivery
- Assist with driving revenue and new business through sales, events, strategic planning, and in-house promotions to deliver budgeted EBITDA
- Lead of the delivery of financial reports for the site including budgets and forecasts
- Evaluate and decide upon key investments in equipment, infrastructure, and talent across all sites.

- Consider new sales and operational recommendations provided and take action where applicable
- Motivate and encourage the attraction team to exceed commercial targets and maintain operational efficiency at all times.
Leadership
- Lead a diverse team of direct reports, motivating and inspiring them to perform at their best.
- Create personal development plans, monitoring objectives and championing your team’s development.
- Inspire teamwork, communication, and collaboration to ensure a healthy working environment for all
- Inspire and lead from the front in daily team briefings and demonstrate the group values at every opportunity.
- Develop strong communication channels, ensuring that relevant information is spread through all levels of your team.
- Developing solid recruitment practices which allow you to build and retain a solid, professional team around you
Guest Excellence
- Ensure customer quality and excellence is at the heart of the attraction’s working practices.
- Ensure staffing levels across the sites are appropriate to demand, working on the attraction floor as and when required.
- Ensure all guest communications are responded to swiftly and on-brand.
- Act as primary point of escalation for any guest issues or complaints, ensuring they are effectively resolved.
Health, Safety and Security
- Communicating and championing health and safety best practice throughout the establishment.
- Work closely with Technical Services to ensure maintenance and PPM schedules are adhered to and delivered across the sites.
- Where required, ensuring all relevant risk assessments & training has been carried out ensuring the safety of people.
- Deliver risk mitigation strategies and lead training sessions for the team
- Overseeing the team in their duty to conduct all site checks are performed pre and post shift
Business Development
- Identify new revenue streams, basing decisions on strong commercial reasoning.
- Develop culture of continual improvement, enhancing Chaos Kart procedures
- Communicating effectively and professionally with third parties, developing strong working relationships with third party suppliers
Skills and Experience
- Significant, demonstrable experience in a management role within attractions/theatre ideally within a visitor attraction, theme park, museum, hotel, theatre, entertainment, or tech environment.
- Strong understanding of business management and commercials including financial reporting, budgets, and forecasting
- Highly organised and proficient in operational strategies.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills
- Ability to take initiative and a practical approach to problem solving
- Ability to think strategically and be solutions and improvement focused.
- Strong computer skills. Ability to utilize standard software applications, including MS Office suite.
- Desire to work in fast-paced environments.

Senior Operations Manager

Purpose of the role
As the Senior Operations Manager, you will be directly responsible for the leadership of our delivery capabilities including project management and overall resource management. You will be responsible for consistently achieving quality, timely and cost-effective delivery on all Chaos Karts sites. You will be responsible for the ownership of our overall approach to delivery across the business, creating and evolving standards and processes to continuously improve the quality, efficiency, and responsiveness.
You will be expected to take responsibility for ensuring that all projects are set-up for success and that work is delivered profitably. You will be expected to apply your skills and experience to solve issues that impact delivery profitability, actively manage resource and third-party project cost, and seek new ways to drive efficiencies across the business and new sites.
We are looking for a hard-working and experienced team player with specific skills to become a key contributor to our product. This role is crucial to the growth strategy of the business.
Key Accountabilities
Commercial Awareness
- To be aware of, understand and work towards the Company’s vision and business objectives
- Create the measures used to monitor the Company’s performance and contribute accordingly to meet them
- Support the CEO in deal making, ensuring our expansion can be realised through excellent operational execution
- Create strategic partnerships with mutual benefit realisation
- Have control of the costs for the attraction and help deliver annual EBITDA targets.
- Identify and exploit opportunities for commercial growth, through driving the sales line and converting profit at a better rates
- Manage relationships with important stakeholders to ensure effective communication throughout the opening of a new site
- Report on project budget, tracking delivery against target margins through efficient project delivery
- To consider issues relating to the company’s growth, taking into consideration team dynamics, client acquisition, new business areas etc. and offer suggestions for how the company could better achieve its objectives
- Maintain and nurture strong working relationships to ensure effective co-ordination of all company activities in support of our strategic objectives.
- Evaluate overall company performance by gathering, analysing, and interpreting data and metrics
- Act as the company’s main adviser on all issues relating to operational functions and keep abreast of latest developments to ensure that the company maintains its competitive position
- Evolve Chaos Kart’s strategy to maximise the scope and impact of new sites
- Continuously develop and product offering by analysis of performance to inform future planning
- Advise Finance and Technical Production teams on contractual rights and obligations
- Cultivate strong relationships with multiple senior stakeholders using a consultative approach
Operations
- Create a robust operational infrastructure in multi-location sites, geared to deliver a first-class customer experience in every location, every time
- Direct all operational elements supporting the execution of our company strategy
- Responsible for the delivery by third parties, ensuring they met all timeframes within your instruction
- Ensure successful management of project expectations, keeping stakeholders informed of the progress of projects and dealing with or escalating any issues efficiently

- Develop and control operational budgets to promote profitability, ensuring the company has all the resources required to meet its objectives within agreed financial parameters.
- Evaluate overall company performance by gathering, analysing, and interpreting data and metrics
- Keep abreast of latest developments to ensure that the company maintains its competitive position
- Oversee the establishment of a healthy, positive, and safe work environment in accordance with all current legislation and regulations
- Carry out due diligence on suppliers for financial robustness and quality of work and delivery
People Management
- Drive and lead the team to deliver the Company business strategy, taking responsibility for driving effective delivery of client work
- Talent development and collaborative with a keen passion for building diverse and engaged teams that achieve their goals.
- Communicate effectively and establish credibility throughout the organisation as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges
- Provide timely feedback and mentoring to team members throughout the opening of new sites
- Champion the importance of teamwork and motivates others around them
- Keep abreast of industry trends and releases, sharing these with the wider team
- Strengthen team dynamics and fosters strong relationships across the business
Role Requirements
Essential
- Experience in a Senior Operations position within our sector – ideally within a visitor attraction, theme park, museum, hotel, theatre, entertainment, or tech environment would be an excellent asset.
- International experience within the industry
- Experience working with senior stakeholders, managing these relationships to a high standard using a consultative approach
- Strong experience, authority, and acumen in engaging with Directors, technicians, and senior management level decision makers
- Management and leadership experience within a diverse team
- Ability to cope with high volume workload under time pressure, to work independently where required and to a high professional standard
- Excellent drafting and communication skills; accuracy and attention to detail essential
- Flexibility and good interpersonal skills, with proactive can-do approach and ability to work as part of a team across business areas
- Demonstrate complex problem solving and critical thinking skills with strong judgment and decision making
- Be encouraging and supportive of new and innovative ideas from all team members on how to improve the product offering
- Able to create a culture of trust and empowerment
