Design a Race Track Competition – Terms and Conditions
Competition ends 31st August
Eligibility:
1.1 The Design a Race Track Competition (hereinafter referred to as “the Competition”) is open to individuals aged 18 years or older, excluding employees and immediate family members of the organizers.
1.2 Participants must possess the legal rights to submit the design and be solely responsible for its originality and authenticity.
1.3 By participating in the Competition, participants fully and unconditionally agree to accept and abide by these Terms and Conditions.
Competition Guidelines:
2.1 Participants are required to design and submit an original race track concept.
2.2 The race track design should incorporate innovative elements, safety considerations, and an engaging experience for racers and spectators. 2.3 Designs must be submitted in a digital format.
2.4 Multiple entries per participant are allowed.
Intellectual Property Rights:
3.1 By participating in the Competition and submitting a race track design, participants agree to assign and transfer all intellectual property rights associated with the submitted design to the organizers.
3.2 Participants acknowledge that the organizers will have full ownership and control over the intellectual property rights of the submitted race track design, including the right to modify, reproduce, distribute, display, and sublicense the design without any further consent or compensation to the participants.
3.3 Participants waive any moral rights or similar rights they may have in relation to the submitted race track design.
3.4 The organizers may, at their discretion, credit the participants for their design when showcasing or promoting it, but such credit is not guaranteed.
3.5 Participants confirm that their submission does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights or any other rights of any third party. Participants shall be solely responsible for any claims or disputes arising from the infringement of such rights and shall indemnify the organizers against any liabilities incurred as a result.
Judging and Selection:
4.1 All submissions will be evaluated by an independent judge appointed by the organizers.
4.2 The judges’ decision will be final and binding in all matters related to the Competition.
4.3 Designs will be evaluated based on creativity, feasibility, safety considerations, adherence to competition guidelines, and overall quality.
Winner Selection:
5.1 The winner will be announced within 30 days of the competition closing date.
5.2 The winner will be notified via email and/or phone using the contact details provided during the submission process.
5.3 If the winner fails to respond within seven (7) days of the notification, the organizers reserve the right to select an alternative winner.
Prizes:
6.1 1 winner will be awarded the ‘Top Prize’ and three other individuals will be awarded the ‘Runners up prize’.
6.1.1 One overall winner will be chosen by an impartial judge. This winner will win an overnight stay in Manchester for two people, dinner for two people (up to the value of £100), and travel for two people (up to the total value of £700). This prize must be used by August 2024. Once booked the dates cannot be changed.
6.1.2 The overall winners’ design will be used as inspiration to build one track level. This design will be completed by December 2025.
6.1.3 3 runners up will be chosen by an impartial judge. These winners will each receive 4 tickets to come and play Chaos Karts. This Prize must be used by August 2024.
6.2 The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other alternatives.
Liability:
7.1 Participants acknowledge that they are solely responsible for the submitted race track design and any potential copyright or intellectual property infringements.
7.2 The organizers, sponsors, and associated parties shall not be held responsible or liable for any loss, injury, or damage resulting from participation in the Competition or acceptance, possession, or use of any awarded prizes.
Modifications and Termination:
8.1 The organizers reserve the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Competition, or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time, without prior notice.
8.2 In the event of any dispute or disagreement regarding the Competition, the organizers’ decision will be final.
Privacy:
9.1 Personal information collected during the Competition will be used solely for the purpose of administering the Competition and awarding the prizes, in accordance with applicable data protection laws and the organizers’ privacy policy.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction:
10.1 These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom.
10.2 Any disputes arising out of or in connection with the Competition shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of The United Kingdom.
By participating in the Design a Race Track Competition, participants indicate their agreement to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in their entirety.
